What: Opening Ceremony
When: Friday, April 5th
Arrive: at 6.00 pm for a 6.30 pm start!
Where: Battery Park City Ball Fields
 

Enter from the Southern Side of the field along Murray Street. PLEASE NOTE: strollers, scooters and bicycles are not permitted on the field.

We've got a fast, but jam-packed program lined up!
 

• Enjoy the National Anthem performed by our own DLL Softball players.

• Presentation of the John McKotch Award given to a league member that embodies the league's motto "Honor the Game" commemorating the spirit of our dear friend, John, who served Downtown Little League with distinction

• Special Guest Kate Kallert will talk about how her Little League experience shaped her college softball career and beyond!

• Watch the opening pitch thrown in by our special guest 

• Meet and socialize with your teammates, coaches, and members of the DLL community!

• Kids - Make sure you bring along a hat or a ball if you would like Ms. Kallert to sign

DLL was founded in 1993 and offers baseball and softball for children aged 5-18 across lower Manhattan, including our Challengers Division for special needs participants. The largest single chapter Little League program in the U.S. with more than 1,200 participants annually, DLL works actively with parents, players and coaches to “Honor the Game” – a philosophy designed to reinforce life lessons such as teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline and respect for all participants.
